FAQs

What services do you offer?
I offer a range of grooming services for small-mediums breeds of dog. As well as teeth cleaning and While You Wait Services such as nail clips.

For Short Haired breeds I offer 'speed cleans' and full grooms with deshedding included as standard.

For Long Haired breeds I offer full grooms as well as maintenance grooms for between full groom appointments. I do not offer just bath and brushes for long haired breeds as I feel they deserve more between grooms and a tidy up is standard with maintenance grooms.

I also offer Puppy Grooms for dogs under 6 months old, as this is an important socialisation period for puppies to understand the life long task of being groomed.

Unfortunately, due to working solo, I cannot offer grooming services for some large and giant dogs for their safety and my own.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, all services are served one-to-one so booking is a must, even for a nail clip or quick chat about your grooming needs.
Where do I park?
Whilst I work from a home studio on the A43 main road, there is parking either outside the house or directly opposite in the lay-by.


Please avoid where you can parking outside of number 85 or any dropped curbs of neighbours.
How do I cancel or change an appointment?
All appointments can be managed on the online booking platform.


As long as you are rescheduling outside of the cancellation period (48 hours) rearranging should be simple online.

Rearranging within 48 hours of your appointment may not be allowed online, so please message me to discuss a change. WhatsApp is the best platform to message me.
What is a Coat Care Routine?
Every coat type has its own requirements for optimum condition.

I include a 6-step grooming treatment to elevate your dogs skin and coat condition with every groom.

Every groom includes, as standard, no upsells:
Tailored Shampoo
Double or Triple Coat conditioning treatment as required
Facial Cleanse
Anti-bacterial Ear Clean
Paw Balm
Finishing Fragrance Spray

Seasonal scents are available, core scents are used throughout the year.

Before your visit

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure any booking.

As a small business, late cancellations can have quite an impact, so they help to protect the time I’ve reserved especially for your dog.

Life happens and plans change! If you do need to cancel or move your appointment, please just make sure you do so more than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Full deposit and payment terms are outlined in the Terms and Conditions sent via email before your first appointment.
Will my dog be put in a crate?
No.
Whilst I do have a secure, built-in resting space available if a dog needs somewhere quiet to settle (affectionately known as the Harry Potter cupboard), dogs in my care, even family dogs are not confined after their groom.

As long as you collect on time, they can relax in the salon space or enjoy the secure patio area while they wait for you.
What is the Emmipet Consultation?
During your intial consultation I will talk to you about your dogs dental conditon and if they are suitable for the Emmipet treatment.

Emmipet is a preventative teeth cleaning service to reduce trips to the vets and anesthetised scale & polish services.

Done early and correctly, together can reduce the chance of your dog having dental disease.

Did you know that 1 in 3 dogs have dental disease by the age of 3? So routine dental care at home and at the groomers is important to maintain.

Emmipet is particularly effective after a scale and polish at the vets to reduce tartar build up, or as puppies once your dog has all their adult teeth, after teething/puppy teeth loss.
Can I book an Emmipet Teeth Cleaning without a consultation?
No, the Emmipet Teeth Cleaning service, either standalone or with a groom, can only be booked after a consultation.

This allows us to evaluate your pet's dental health and tailor the service accordingly.
What makes Hounds on the Hill environmentally friendly?
I do what I can!


I try to reduce waste where possible by buying liquid consumables in bulk to reduce plastic, recycle where I can, and even recycle your dog’s hair through a scheme called the Green Groomers Collective.

The salon also has solar panels helping to keep things running a little greener.
